Why I founded The Dance HALL
The story of The Dance HALL is quite simple. It really started from my very own need of a place to express myself through dance. Unfortunately, Dakar, beautiful and vibrant capital of Senegal, lacked of a proper place dedicated to the art of dance. I choose to create one. Urban dances are big in this city. It was a shame not having one single studio around town, where amateurs could learn from professionals and where these professional could improve their skills with other fellows.
Overall it showed a lack of recognition of the role dance could play in culture and education. It was a necessity and an emergency to contribute in reevaluating this art.
